In the Great Hall on 28th October you can hear Platinum ABBA. The band was established in 1997 in the UK with only one purpose: to become the best ABBA tribute band in the world and according to London Evening Standard they are the best and most authentic ABBA tribute which you can find.
The real ABBA originate from 1966 and it got the glory with the hits like “Waterloo”, “Money Money”, “SOS” and “Mamma Mia”, but even after 25 of breakup the popularity is not sinking. A fact which is proving their reputation is that next year they will have they own museum, and that they have sold 370 million plates around the world.
Platinum ABBA is not some average tribute band, they do not look and play just as the real ABBA, but they also have live performance, with all instruments and without backing recordings.

Musical trio (Stefania, Mara, Giorgia) which is taking your breath, will present modern and tepmerament interpretation of a classical music. All three singers have had classical voice education. Mara Tanchi’s voice took her even to the Vatican where she sang for the Pope, Stefania Francabandiera was working with Eros Ramazzotti, Giorgia Villa worked with musical artists like Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams and others.

Days of Oris - this manifestation with international character has its huge purpose, to introduce contemporary architect leaders to Croatian public.
The organizations (Arhitekst and Oris) of the event announced participation of architects from United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States of America, Chile, Slovenia and Croatia. The manifestation is organized as a two-day series of lectures by eminent architects who present their works, concepts of construction through crative approaches with new techoligy, trends and materials.

The legendary Johnny Winter, one of the best bluesman in the world is coming to Croatia in Zagreb on 29.10.2008!
His creation as a guitarist, singer and producer has a tradition over 30 years long. He is the proud owner of over 20 official albums.
Winter was always a connection between British blues rock and American southern sound which gave him a respect of numerous musicians. Rolling Stones and John Lennon have written „Silver Train“ and „Rock’n'roll people“ for him, and even The Rolling Stones have started their legendary concert in Hyde Park with Johnny Winters song „I’m hers and I’m yours“.
Winter is a man who performed on Woodstock, played with Muddy Waters, Johnny Lee Hooker and Jimmy Hendrix, after years spent in hell of drugs and alcohol he came back in 2004 with the album “I’m a Bluesman” and today he is playing better than ever!

The Festival will show us the most interesting things happening in the jazz world, but with the broad programme it promotes freedom in music showing a wide range of possibilities and movements through the jazz music.
The festival has two parts, the first part starts on 5th of November with the opening concert of Dave Douglas 3 one of the US most famous musicians in the jazz scene, one of the best trumpeters in the world, magnificent composer and a bandleader.
From 5th till 7th of November there is a musical performance “Teretni čovjek” from Damira Bartola Indoša and his House of Extreme Music Theatre.
From 5th till 10th there is music workshop with legendary free jazz saxophonist Charles Gayle. Although he established his reputation as saxophonist he is also pianist, bass clarinettist, and percussionist. One of his most celebrated, and famous works is free album “Touchin’ on Trane”.
Second part of the Festival starts on 10th of November with the most admired jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, and already mentioned Charles Gayle. Both are more than ten years on the central jazz instrumentalists and composers.
On 11th of November Amina Claudine Myers, creative and one of the few jazz composers with a mastery of blues, gospel and soul music will have her performance with Amina Claudine Myers Trio. Billy Bang the most significant free jazz violinist and composer will also give to the public the pleasure to perform on the Festival. De Reizende Verkoper (The Traveling Salesman) will show the extraordinary combination of freak/noise/free jazz/rock sound.
12th of November will amaze the visitors with Larsen feat. Jamie Stewart & Julia Kent, Olafur Arnalds and Paramount Styles.
On 13th the entertainers are Alexander Balanescu, Zlatko Kaučič & Javier Girotto (Romania/Slovenia/Argentina), Larry Ochs’ Kihnoua and The Engines.
On 14th of November the Festival will host Globe Unity Orchestra, The Claudia Quintet and sonus@anima.
Kid Koala, Joe Fiedler Trio, Lightning Bolt and Uzeda will entertain on last two days (15.11. & 16.11.) of the 9th International N.O. Jazz Festival.

5th Nordic Days in Croatia - Energy Efficiency & Environment in preparation (24-25th November 2008.)
Nordic Days in Croatia are a conference fair organized by the Embassies of Denmark, Norway, Iceland, the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Svea Kanal.
The topic of the event is Energy Efficiency and Environment, covering a wide spectrum of subsectors, such as energy efficiency, fossil fuels, renewable sources, waste and wastewater management and environmental protection.
The objective of the venue is to bring together Nordic, Croatian and regional companies and organizations from the sectors of energy and environment, to establish new business contacts, open new investment possibilities, encourage the exchange of know-how and experience and present new technologies and products relevant to the sectors. Special emphasis within the sectors will be placed on conventional and renewable energy sources, waste and wastewater management, environmental protection and energy efficiency.
The Nordic Days 2008 are expected to host between 80-100 Nordic companies and 350-500 Croatian and regional companies whose interests are within the sectors of energy, environmental protection, communal economy, energy efficiency, water protection and preservation, waste management, renewable energy and consulting.
Zagreb Film Festival is an annual film festival established in 2003 and held in Zagreb, Croatia.
Festival features debut, first and second author films in three separate international competition programs (feature film, short film, documentary film), and one competition program for short films made by Croatian authors.
The Festival award is called Zlatna kolica (Golden Pram). Until 2005 the award was called Golden Bib.
The 2007 edition featured around 80 films from 30 countries and attracted an audience of around 30,000 people.
